Important Note for Customers: The EcoSail air deflector is not a conventional hard plastic deflector. If you're expecting a rigid, traditional deflector, this product may not meet your expectations. Instead, the EcoSail, a hand made product, features a unique, sail-like design that in essence floats above the air vent/register, catching and redirecting air, somewhat like a sail catches wind to propel a sailboat. This innovative approach provides numerous advantages over conventional deflectors, as discussed below. EcoSail Air Deflector Advantages: 1. Removing and/or repositioning a floating side strip also enables you to point airflow away from you if you’re sitting or sleeping close to a vent. 3. Works on All Vents including wood vents and floors. As shown in the product video, the EcoSail is a rectangularly shaped piece of fabric (laser-cut industrial strength fabric) that has a magnetic strip(s) on one long side of the EcoSail for attaching it to the corresponding side of a vent/register (or floor). The EcoSail also includes an extra magnetic strip for enabling the EcoSail to be attached to wood floors and vents. The extra magnetic strip is placed - adhesive side down - against a wood vent or an adjacent area of a wood floor so that when it lines up with the magnetic strip on the EcoSail, the EcoSail will cover the vent. It works not just on wood vents but on all non-magnetic vents such as plastic, aluminum and painted vents and registers. The adhesive on the extra magnetic strip will not harm your wood floor’s finish, as proven by years of testing. 4. Quieter Living Spaces: Reduces noise transmission between rooms as the EcoSail closes off vents when airflow stops. Really cuts noise level when used on both the vents in a noisy room and a room like a bedroom where someone is trying to sleep. 5. Our smaller size covers a vent face measuring 5.5" x 11.4". (please see pic for size dimensions & please measure carefully as this is a hand made product with a restocking fee). FYI: the smaller side strips are NOT magnets and are not intended to stick to the vent. If they did, the EcoSail would not lay flat against the vent when it closes and therefore would not insulate the room as well. Also, the adhesive on the extra magnetic strip will not leave any residue on wood floors or any other surface.
